Berkley Chop Block

The Berkley PowerBait Chop Block brings the wide, lazy glide of a hard glide bait to soft plastic. Its tall, broad body looks like a gizzard shad, bluegill or other big forage. Twitch it softly to make it slide side to side almost in place, or snap it harder for a quick, tight chopping action that can turn it 180 degrees. When you pause, it nearly hangs in the water, which is often when the bite comes.

Because it's soft, the Chop Block does something a hard glide can't: you can skip it far back under docks and overhanging brush. A magnet holds the rear hook in place on the harness, and the hooks pull free of the body when a fish is on. That gives the fish less leverage to throw the bait, and the body lasts longer.
