The Jackall Bital Minnow is a 5-inch soft minnow from Jackall Japan, made mainly for mid-strolling (shaking a light jighead through mid-water) and hover-style presentations. Its belly is deeply cut away so the balance sits high, which lets the bait roll over easily for a sharp rolling action when it is shaken, while a straight retrieve makes the ribbed tail section send out a fast, tight escape vibration. It is molded from Jackall's S.I.O Elastomer, a salt-infused material that rides level to slightly nose-down and can be made much softer than standard soft plastic. It also darts well weightless or on a nail rig, and works as a trailer on a bladed jig.
- Length: 5 in; about 7.5 g (about 1/4 oz) per bait
- Pack: 5 baits
- Material: S.I.O Elastomer (salt-infused), shipped lightly powdered so the baits do not stick together
- Design: raised center of gravity, sideways forked tail, segmented tail joint, dimple on the rear of the back, and hook-set guide lines on the back and belly; the tail tips come joined by a small factory lock that is cut off before fishing
- Suggested rigging: mid-strolling jighead of about 1.8 to 7 g (about 1/16 to 1/4 oz) with a 2/0 to 3/0 hook; hover-style rig of 0.9 to 2.2 g with a 2/0 to 3/0 hook
- Storage: keep it from touching other soft or hard lures, which can cause melting, deforming or color bleed; storing it in its own blister pack is recommended
