The Evergreen JT-95 is a compact, silent pencil bait for clear water and wary bass, sold in Japan as the Combat Pencil Justine. Evergreen's Toshifumi Kikumoto built it at the request of US staff angler Justin Kerr, who wanted a walker that fast-striking smallmouth could not knock away. A short glide makes a quick, tight walk-the-dog easy, and the body is weighted heavier than usual for its size so it casts far and straight. Three trebles sit balanced at a 45-degree rest angle, and flat sides limit roll so the hooks stay in the water and more strikes stick.
