The Galapagos Grace 280S is the sinking version of the Grace 280, the largest bait in the Grace family, built for the biggest fish in a lake. Like the floating 280F it glides wide on a straight retrieve, can turn its head in place with small rod movements, and handles jerks, stop-and-go, burning and dead-sticking, with reinforced joints for large fish. The 280S has its own weight balance: it sinks slightly nose-up rather than level, the large rattle weight near the gills was removed to lower the center of gravity, and this keeps it composed during sharp actions and cuts down on line fouling the hooks. It can be counted down to any depth, or kept swimming just under the surface over water less than about 3 ft (1 m) deep.
