The Rapala Flat Rap is a slim balsa minnow with flat sides that flash hard as it swims, a quicker, flashier twist on Rapala's classic wounded-minnow action. A triangle-shaped lip adds to that action and helps the bait deflect off cover in its path. The balsa body floats and rises slowly whenever the retrieve stops, so it can be twitched, paused and let drift up over shallow fish.

  • Body length: 3-1/8 in (model FLR08)
  • Weight: 1/4 oz
  • Running depth: 2 to 4 ft; floating, slow-rising
  • Balsa body with triangle lip; long-casting design
  • Hooks: two No. 6 VMC black nickel trebles
  • Hand-tuned and tank-tested
